BIOGRAPHY
Christopher Mohn is a Los Angeles–based DJ, producer, poet, and visual artist with over a decade of work in the international dance music underground. He first built a global following as one half of two respected duos, Android Cartel and Dance Spirit, before stepping into a solo chapter defined by reinvention and a wider creative practice spanning music, poetry, and visual art.
As Android Cartel (2007–2016, with Reagan Denius), Mohn helped shape a distinct West Coast tech-house sound, picked up early by Chris Fortier and Steve Lawler and later championed by Carl Cox, John Digweed, Luciano, and Hernan Cattaneo. The duo released on Rawthentic Music, Thoughtless Music, Spark, ViVa Music, and Adjunct Audio, ran their own label Sketchbook Audio, and played Lightning in a Bottle, Electric Daisy Carnival, Beyond Wonderland, and a longtime residency at LA's Monday Social.
From 2013 to 2020, Dance Spirit's original run took the duo to Coachella, Desert Hearts Festival, Lightning in a Bottle, Robot Heart, Fabric London, and a residency with Flying Circus at Sankeys Ibiza, with releases on Get Physical Music, Crosstown Rebels, Bedrock Music, and Superfreq. The project was profiled by Thump, Mixmag, and Attack Magazine, and contributed guest mixes for Get Physical Radio and John Digweed's Transitions.
Today, Mohn also creates under his own name through Point, Line, and Plane, exploring minimal techno, house, and avant-garde electronic music rooted in rebellion, authenticity, and human connection. His recent releases — including the Therapy, Daybreak, Breaks for the Broken, and Riding Shotgun EPs, and a 2025 remix of Thaddeus X's "My Life" for Akbal Music Editions — weave together sound, spoken word, and visual art, touching on themes of global identity, climate resilience, and mental health.
His newest solo concept, King Freak, is a functional house and techno project built around his own poetry spoken over the groove — part rebellion, part reminder to bring the freaks and the good vibes back to the dance floor. King Freak tracks "Astrology" and "Spiritual Bitch" were selected for John Digweed's Live at Twilo, a four-CD live recording released July 24, 2026 on Bedrock Records, capturing Digweed's one-off return to New York's legendary Twilo nightclub 25 years after it closed — alongside music from The Orb, Deep Dish, Culoe De Song, and Hot Since 82.
After six years away, Dance Spirit is back. Mohn and longtime creative partner Reagan Denius reunited to release "Tranquilized & Hypnotized" on July 31, 2026 — the lead single from their long-awaited second album, Lunatic, arriving September 25, 2026 on Koukan, the independent label the duo just launched together. Lunatic is an eleven-track multimedia project paired with original visual work for every song, exploring duality, transformation, healing, and human connection through Dance Spirit's signature cinematic take on electronic music.
